The internal carrier has made clear that it has no obligation to rebook and that your ticket will have whatever value it has against a ticket on a later flight. Perfect. I will calm down a bit then haha. I have decided that I think I'd rather not check any bags on the way there and just go with carry ons. This will make it more likely to catch that second flight. It will be a bit of a pain as I cannot bring everything I'd want to, but I suppose they can be purchased in Japan.
