In terms of discounted J, I don't anyone should ever pull the "get what you pay for with a discounted J ticket". I just booked JAX-LHR for March during the award sale for 99k miles r/t. Earlier this year I booked JAX-ARN/AMS-JAX in paid J (though discounted, still a good bit of $$$). Personally, I expect the exact same service (Save for things like the AMS club sucks, no arrivals lounge when you arrive at ARN, etc.).
No one makes DL offer their product at a discount - that's their business decision. Bottom line is if you book a class of service, you should be entitled the full experience in to that class of service.
