I did very similar to this to Beijing recently (albeit under EK codes as no codeshare available, so no Avios/TP for me) and agree with all you've said bar one thing - as I'm 6' 2, I didn't like the QF seat when it was in take off/landing mode as I had nowhere to stretch my legs.
Other than that, both were brilliant
