You can call SQ and ask them to check the load and access the probability of getting the waitlist cleared.
I'll probably let it go though, the waitlist controller usually look at flights 2 weeks out and if it's doesn't clear by then, the chances of getting the flight confirmed is very low (unless the flight is quite empty, and there is immediate redemption availability).
I elected to not fuss with it, especially since I am travelling with the GF but if I was solo, I may have taken a chance on it. Good to know about calling SQ checking the load for future reference, though. Thanks.
