Circle Pacific with Air NZ
I've already posted this matter in the *A Forum, but as the tricky part is Air NZ-related, I'm reposting here:
My wife and I are planning a trip from the U.S. to the South Pacific and Asia. The Star Alliance Circle Pacific fare might be a good match, but we'd want to be sure we could visit several Pacific islands. From trying to decode the rules for the fare, it seems to me if we fly into SYD from the U.S. (on a separate ticket) and begin our Circle there, we can fly to New Zealand and then on to Pacific Islands though AKL.
1) Am I right? Would we be able to fly through AKL multiple times, as in SYD-AKL-PPT-AKL-RAR-AKL-HNL ... ?
2) What's the best way of finding someone at AirNZ, or a Aust/NZ travel agency, who's familiar with the mileage-based Circle Pacific fare? We've had bad luck so far.
Many thanks for any help!
