How can they force you? Do you think hotels have enforcers who will torture you or hold your family hostage if you don't have your Amex card?
Wouldn't they make you pay for all the amenities you have used? I would think American Express will at least pay for part of the amenities like breakfast, foot credit, etc? American Express may pass the cost over to you if you go against the rule of having to pay using AmEx card?
