Recently moved from the Americas to Hong Kong.

I have Copa Connectmiles with Star Alliance and AAdvantage with Oneworld.

If see myself travelling mostly Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific for the next 2 years, is there a benefit in switching over? Will I earn more miles flying with the program belonging to the operator?

I currently have no status with the other airlines, but have quite a few miles saved up. Therefore, I am reluctant to open new accounts.
