I get Your24 requests approved about between 50-75% of the time. However, I often get early check-in even for those instances where Your24 was initially declined.
Obviously, the ability to approve Your24 requires that your room category to not be at very high occupancy the night before.
Well said. In fact, we could point out that MR Plat requires 75 nights, so by the OP's logic that he should be treated as if he had stayed 75 nights with SPG, all MR Plats would get such treatment and all MR Golds would be treated like Plat50, not Gold. This obviously didn't happen in the status match offer.
Since the OP is PP with Marriott, he should be very accustomed to getting no special benefits due to high status.
