Marriott Platinums did get a bit of a raw deal with the status match, but obviously the point was to keep SPG members happy for now.

I'm sure there's a Your 24 thread on Flyertalk but it's something that is not delivered consistently enough to be able to count on. (many hotels routinely decline Your 24 requests) So depending on your desired property you might not be missing anything anyhow.
