Booking award flight with non-family members?

I'd like to book an international award reservation with my girlfriend. We both have JMB accounts, but all the points are in her account (mine is empty). When checking out to book the flight, I was surprised to see that the checkout asks for my relationship to the member booking the flight (I hadn't previously realized that JAL seems to only allow booking flights for spouse/family members).

In the checkout though, I can put my "relationship" as "Member" and then enter my membership number, essentially declining to state my relationship to her. Is this OK to do, or is this a mistake on the website?

I'm curious - does JAL demand proof of family status? Has this happened to anyone before - if so, when? (i.e. do they send an email after booking, or does the gate agent check when trying to board)?
