To reiterate, you have a valid complaint if the FA is uninformed and determined to remain that way. But the way you acted on it was counterproductive and DYKWIAish.
Write in a complaint -- crew feedback is taken seriously and followed up on. Then move on. And realize that even if your device is compliant, if it looks close to the limit, you may run into this situation again. They have to make a judgment call; don't be a jerk about it.
