Yes, if you look at the seasonal C->Y refits LH does on A330/340 and B748/744, they convert the mini C cabin into Y, followed by PE, then Y again. Looks/seems/feels ugly but does the job.
The dense 36 C seat layout between door 1 and 2 comes from the fact that LH has a B/E Diamond seat config that makes real good use of aircraft real estate. The Zodiac seat on AY and QR is a piece of junk for the amount of space it requires. Its only redeeming grace is a 1-2-1 config.
