Thanks all. I'm used to Asia and Middle East business where seats are actually wider with more pitch so given there are fewer seats per overhead locker, there is usually plenty of leeway. I had hoped that was the case with US dom F given the seats are slightly more spread out than CE. FWIW, while I agree CE is a con, but once you get to more than 5-6 hrs usually you get decent recline eg LON-AMM. In that regard, a bit let down to hear TransCon >6 hrs in the US does not recline much etc unless the new A321 with JFK or 777 MIA I believe.
