I have flown the EVA YYZ-TPE-NRT flight several times and AC YYZ-HND/NRT many times.

Lately I prefer the AC flight...I just want to get there quickly and the shorter time flight trumps all to me. With EVA not only is the long haul flight longer but then you have to spend hours in a lounge followed by a flight to NRT. All this adds up , and as for "enjoying time in the cabin", I get plenty of "enjoyment" on a 12.5 hour flight..beyond that I am not sure the word enjoyment is what I would use as a descriptor.

I don't like the 1:45am departure time for EVA and sure, the food and drink is better than AC, but really, how much food and drink do you typically want at 2:30 to 3:30am?

PS-the premium lounge is used by EVA at YYZ and it stays open until boarding time for the flight by special arrangement with EVA

I would not mind EVA on the flight back to Toronto....it leaves TPE at a normal supper time, and gets into Toronto after rush hour (unlike the HND-YYZ flight).
