I had a similar experience to Kreeft's a couple years ago. While preparing for departure, it did not take a rocket scientist to realize that the FA who was greeting passengers in FC had hit the wall. I too asked "How are YOU doing" and her response was the same "You're the first person who's asked me that today and I do appreciate it." A couple hours into the flight, she approached, tapped me on the shoulder, handed me two bottles of wine and commented that it was FFs like me who kept her coming back each day. I was amazed that such a simple gesture was so meaningful and it became clear to me, that day, what a thankless job it can often be.
