That's not the worst that can happen. Because you're on a separate ticket (and assuming that it is non refundable or changeable) you may be considered as "no show" if your incoming CX flight is late and you miss the onward flight - and you'd have to buy fresh tickets to LGK for the following day!
I personally wouldn't have organised such a tight connection on separate tickets.
