You won't get one.

This sounds like a scam akin to the various rental car fuel scams. They do it to a lot of people, reverse the charges when people complain, but succeed in getting a lot of charges to stick because people don't notice or don't care.

Seriously: I can't think of a time in my life when the thought has even entered my mind to steal a hotel towel. This has held true at both Motel 6 and the Four Seasons. (The amusing part being that it's the Motel 6 end of the scale that often has nasty warnings about stealing towels!!)

I'm picky about my towels at home. I'll survive with the hotel's towels while I travel, but I have zero desire to stuff one of those things into my luggage.
