In my experience the statement gives the first letter of the fare basis. Which sometimes is the booking code and sometimes is not.
In the specific case of your TATL flight, I would surmise that you are actually on a Q fare that permits booking into T, not a normal T fare. (I would imagine the basis is QLX8S4T1/DIF4.)

YMMV but I think relying on what is on the card statement would be risky, especially if you are anticipating more TPs than you actually get!
e.g. on my BA Amex a couple of recent Avios bookings in CE came up as 'B' which, IIRC, is a semi-flex Y fare.
Club Europe redemption is U class, but the fare basis for a BA shorthaul redemption is BAFM01.
