If it's one of the later flights of the day, yes, you won't make it there the same day. Southwest does not fly red-eyes, so that option is null also.

Choosing the early AM flight is the pro move. Less chance for delay and many recovery options. It's great, starting about 5 minutes after your 4 AM alarm sounds.
