How old are the kids? If they are old enough to take care of themselves, I would keep your seats in the 1H/L, 2H/L. If they are younger and would need assistance, I would book 3D/H and 5D/H, as the middle seats allow for closer access to kids who need assistance.
Do other people agree with this? I'm in a similar boat, traveling this spring from DFW-LHR on a redeye with a party of 4, which includes 3 adults and one 3 year old. Our toddler is a good traveler, but I'd like to be able to keep an eye on her. We're also currently booked in 1 H/L and 2 H/L of an empty cabin. Now I'm wondering if a better setup might be something like sticking our daughter in 1D, with mom in 1H, and dad and auntie across the aisle in 1A and 2A. Any thoughts?
