Where is the question though?

I imagine you'd be spread out across a few alliances if basing decisions only on price/ VFM, at which point you'd still lose in regards to collecting in one pot for redemptions.

Gain in cost savings though.

You'd have thought it was worth it to BA to keep your 10k spend in their pot, as in reality other than a few extra Avios (well double) and potentially some lost revenue in seat selection, you're both not really costing them anything more than the slightly better food provision in the F lounge.

The only reason it would be really worth their while cutting you would be is if they wanted to reduce overall Status provision cost, as in lounge/ checkin volume etc...

Would this really cover your costs though assuming you even took just took 20% of that spend elsewhere?
