I wonder what A3 did to you lately and you started the series of "anti-A3" posts (e.g., see the "infamous" one) Well, the "free" tickets are certainly not a super-duper bargain, but you can't say that they're a way for A3 to make money: there are several days during the year in which one needs to fly and can't find a cheap ticket, and then these tickets come-in handy. I flew ATH-FCO recently, and the cheapest ticket (one way) was about 100€, without including taxes... At any rate, you don't have to fly if you don't want to or when the free ticket is cheaper than the regular one (?!).
