Starwood has actually been better at adapting to technology than other chains. Marriott doesn't allow you to file a claim for a rate found on an app for example. In the end it's in their interest to have as much of the sales as possible go through their own channel and not the OTA's, so perhaps they will find a way to catch or stop these. I suspect the agents would have had no issue accepting the BRG claim if they were just able to reproduce it.
