2x1x1 meters is fine with me -- and Japanese capsule hotels are cheap too! The only thing I don't like in most capsules is that there is no lockable door, just a curtain, so soundproofing isn't too great and you have to leave your valuables in the locker. Or just under your pillow, since you'd have to be a pretty damn good thief to be able to climb in and out of someone else's capsule unnoticed while they're sleeping there...
