Here's another way to look at it. Let's say it takes 20 hours to get to PM and you take the 4 RUCs. Each is (maybe) good for an upgrade an a flight that will max out at about 5, maybe 6 hours. So you sit on a plane for 20 hours to get not more than 24 hours of upgrade benefit.

Similarly, the $450 it costs could go to paying for lounge access and C+ benefits on the handful of times you need it. Will you get significantly more than $450 value out of PM benefits?
