US$3000 and was quoted a fare of approx. US$4300 which I thought was quite high considering I had no BA flights and only one QF long-haul flight. Further, since BA was busy screwing around with my itinerary QF could not hold it for me unless I purchased it immediately so I said no thanks. Any suggestions? I have not tried QR yet, as anyone had a good experience with them?
My itinerary includes QR, QF, CX, JL, AA, AY, AB, and RJ
Qantas seems to be off with ther tax calculation. I priced one last week with a base fare of AUD3800 and the added $1400 in taxes. Only one QF flight and none with BA. Qantas does seem t allow at least a 24 hour hold on this product. Last week I was offered four days.
I know AA isn't currently selling ex-CAI but perhaps they would at least set one up, maybe allowing you to call another airline for pricing. Even if you then couldn't get another carrier to ticket it, AA could at least give you a breakdown of taxes that you could use to query QF with.
