They could ask for volunteers. Most of the times I travel, it wouldn't matter if I arrived today, tomorrow or yesterday. If my waiting a day would mean somebody else's urgent need to travel could be accommodated, I would quite willingly step aside and let them have my seat. I would like BA to pay for the overnight in a hotel and a meal, but that's all.
