You can drive from Nelson to Queenstown via the west coast only and skip Christchurch. It is a pretty route. Don't try to do the drive in one day, it is way too far.
Thanks, that looks like its going to have to be the plan, Christchurch will likely have to be skipped. It looks like the wine region is OK, I will wait and see though.
