Seems that Marriott properties re-affirm current elite status when touching the reservation and at check in, while SPG system holds to status at time reservation was made unless you specifically request they update.
So is the take-away that a Marriott elite should ask the SPG desk to update/refresh to make sure their status is accurately displayed, or should they call the SPG ressie line before the stay to ask the same?
