On the second day of stay they cleaned the room, removed wet towels and provided with clean ones - but the maid placed 2 big towels instead of 3. The smaller ones were big enough to use after shower, so we didn't bother calling the reception desk. At 2am we checked out, got into one of their hotel limos to get us to the airport -the car starts moving and suddenly a receptionist runs and SCREAMS. I thought that maybe we forgot something at the reception desk... no... he approached the car and accused us of stealing a towel... We told him to check again and that we're in a hurry to the airport. After 5 min the driver got a call from him, gave me the phone and the receptionist was still accusing us of stealing a towel... I hang up. We never heard from them again.
The situation was handled not the way that a full of marble and crystal chandolliers 5* hotel should do. Can you imagine a guy in suit and tie running across such property, yelling? It was all like a scene from some bad comedy.
In Egypt, the cost will be charged to the receptionist as they said the room was OK, SOP over there, it used to be a lot of hassle when I was TO reservations working with the local hotels
