Have an Amex Platinum card and was considering getting supplementary card for spouse.

Verbiage is this:

Supplementary Cards:$175 annually for Platinum Cards*; $50 annually for Gold Cards

Can anyone confirm that the supplementary Gold card is the exact same as a normal Gold card in regards to ability to earn double points on hotels, groceries, gasoline etc.

If so, may get her a Gold card and use that when we travel together for hotels and the like.
