Have held the AMEX SPG twice (once a longer term hold) with the most recent ending in January 2016. At that time I switched to the MR card as I needed some Aeroplan points. I am out of that card now (since August). In reading the small print, AMEX now indicates that it only pays out the welcome bonuses to new customers. I would like to get the SPG card one more time but only if I were to get the bonus. Does AMEX strictly apply this condition? Perhaps I could go to the MR Gold Business card to get the points as I have never held that card before?
