There has been metal for a long time in J. Only the knives have been plastic, albeit even on domestic I have had the heavy duty ones. Most Asian carriers now use all metal again -- including knives -- on their services to just about everywhere but North America. Had metal knives between SIN and NRT, HKG and JNB. Though the lounges still use just plastic, or wooden/plastic chop sticks.
