There's also the Royal Navy resto with a patio over the river just to the south of Tha Chang (across the street from Wat Phra Kaeo). Food is definitely not tourist Thai and not expensive for the location. Wide ranging menu contains English listings as well.

Location is the building to the south of the entrance/exit to Tha Chang. Access from the parking lot on the south side, mid-building.

It is not Royal Navy 77 Club which fronts toward the street and Palace in the same building.
