Japan visa - why no online application option?
For a country so technologically advanced, does anyone have any insight as to why Japan is still heavily reliant on manual/ hard copy screening of documents for visa processing?
Australia is fully electronic and did not even ask for my passport to stamp. Canada asks for online copies and would only ask for the passport when a decision has been made. I believe the U.K., NZ and schengen countries have similar processes. However, Japan has no means of electronic screening whatsoever and everything has to be done in-person or hard copies have to be mailed in.
