Yes the elevator lobby concierge.
Similar to the ones i have seen in Singapore, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Been treated the same when I have been travelling with my husband, or in a solo capacity or those journeys up the elevator when I have met a Grindr friend in the lobby and we have been going upstairs.
I think they are just there to assist guests, I do not think they are doing the whos going upstairs with who.
I know that in some KL hotels if you have a Muslim surname and you are checking in with a partner of the opposite sex, you will be asked for a marriage certificate.
Not sure what their procedure is for same sex couples sharing a room.
As I don't have a Muslim surname - I guess I have not been under this scrutiny.
