I am a few thousand Skymiles short to help gain an upgrade on an international flight to the US and so would like to apply for the Delta Skymiles Visa card so I can claim the bonus 5,000 miles. However, I am not totally conversant in financial legal speak and so I am not totally sure of the following phrase seen on the website- "17.9% APR (variable) on card purchases – includes £50 annual fee"

Does this mean that the annual fee is included in the interest rate or am I liable to pay the £50 annual fee?

Any advice would be truly appreciated.
