OK so it looks like add to HHA is the only way to go. Problem is they already have a BAEC account and I don't really want their miles to get merged with my family's.

Could I create a new BAEC account for them add them to the HHA using this new account and then never use this new BAEC account again?

So in effect they would have two BAEC accounts.
