Pardon me for piggybacking on this thread but I was doing some research this weekend on this exact subject. Flying PWM-DTW-LHR and back on DL metal in a couple weeks.

I see on the baggage value page http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...age-value.html the following:

International Liability Limit (governed by the Warsaw Convention)
$9.07 per lb. up to $640 per bag (U.S. Dollars)

International Liability Limit (governed by the Montreal Convention)
1,131 SDR (Special Drawing Rights) per ticketed passenger*

Does this mean the max compensation I would get for a lost bag is $640 travelling with DL internationally?
