Basically I have booked an award ticket with Aeromexico flight AM2 MAD>MEX on 23rd December. The original aircraft was the 788 and I purchased a bulkhead window seat. They changed the aircraft to the new 789 (which i'm excited about).

However in doing so they have reassigned me a regular economy seat towards the back of the cabin. I've called and tried to get them to reassign my original seat. The are dragging their heels and using the excuse that when I paid it wasn't sure I would get the seat but just to reserve it. They haven't even offered me a refund or to reassign me to another Plus seat. They say because the prices have changed since I made my purchase I need to pay the difference. Which is ridiculous for me.

I have just checked my online booking seat map and now I actually have NO SEAT ASSIGNMENT. and it has updated to say "requires check in". What does this mean? Am I gonna be bumped? Should I select another seat now to make sure I'm on that flight? Why would they take away my replacement seat assignment?

There are a lot of available seats so I don't understand what's happened.
Sort it out on the phone, don't wait on it and be surprised. Be clear, concise and persistent. If they can't move you ask for the refund and pay for your seat again.
