Just as an aside, some people on here have been mentioning that they're considering shifting from BA to another alliance.

I've been BA and VS previously myself so don't have wide experience, but just looking at the lounges at LAX, it sounds as if the other alliances lounges are of a lower standard. Star alliance having no first? Skyteam being a Priority Pass lounge? I'd be mighty pissed off flying Air France or KLM First and finding myself in a PP lounge in a major airport...
