The more appropriate place for this would be the other airlines of North & South America but that's not ridicule.
I would HUCA (Hang Up Call Again) to see if you get a more proper agent. If they return with the same response then go forward with dispute the charge as you did not received the service you paid for. It's frustrating to not get what you paid for but don't give up after the first try. Sometimes you just have to be persistent.
