Not to get into too many hard details but have an excellent credit rating, never carry a balance, the limit on the specific card is relatively high and my overall usage across myself(and my wife) is around zero unless made large recent purchased.

I had a Gold AMEX since 2001. SkyMiles I had for awhile and stopped flying Delta. Now back on. Had the 'new' card a little under a year. It was a targeted offer during one of the 50K Mile Bonus.

Now I'd like the benefits of the Platinum SkyMiles card. I used LiveChat and was told 'not eligible' to upgrade. Wouldn't provide any hard info on the 'rules' of upgrading.

Anyone with more knowledge know what it is?
