Delta will get your daughter to GRU, but i've found, especially with international flights, having some backups in your pocket can come in handy.

if weather looks like an impending problem, get to BOS early enough to ask about an earlier flight to DTW (technically not permitted under Same-Day Confirmed rules, but airport staff will reportedly be proactive in potential IROPS situations)
