Tmobile Global
The global part is awesome. OTOH I have spotty reception at home. Like others I use wifi at home plus a land line. (yes, I am that old) However like a friggin' testimonial I used this plan on 4 month around the world trip and it worked like a charm. I had better reception in rural Columbia and Ecuador than in Oregon. It was very convenient. Pretty much the only place we didn't have reception was Polynesia, Madagascar and Mozambique. We even had wonder reception on Easter Island.
I called internationally and spoke with Tmobile service from overseas and was quite pleased. The key as usual is to get a US based person by telephone to help. The Asian based folks were well meaning but ineffectual in my experience.
It remains an amazing option for world travelers. I also like being able to call my family in Mexico and Canada for free as part of our specific plan.
The weird thing about reception is that sometimes my husbands Tmobile iPhone gets great reception where I have no bars. Other times visa versa. Both our iPhones were purchased optimized for Tmobile. I can not explain it. I bet they can't either.
