Let's not forget that operational upgrades do happen but only when Y is oversold. So Avianca is not going to hand out free upgrades to Star Gold or for that matter their own FF'ers.
These aren't Op-Ups being reported.
There have long been reports of occasional *G upgrades on AV, with some agents describing it as a policy, and others denying the policy exists.
