From DoubleTree, a quick walk to the local street market. Definitely a scent-overload and a glimpse into the poverty of the area, but kinda cool if you are after some souvenirs. Hit the ATM for some IDR since neither the hotel nor businesses will take anything else.

Ticket counters at CGK for JL don't open until about 2-3hrs prior to the flight, so don't get there too early unless you have access to the landside lounge (Priority Pass is a great program).

AA 8498 (JL 726) is not a very full flight usually, and you can ask at the counter about a bump to Premium Economy for a fee...I think it's like US$200.

AA 176 to DFW doesn't leave much time in Japan (I like AA 60), but it's enough to hop the train to Narita and explore the shops/temple for an hour or two.
