I gotta say I find this pretty underwhelming compared, say, to the other postcard I received today from Barclays (spend $500 in Nov/Dec/Jan and get 15k AA miles bonus). Also CSR now offers 3 UR/$1 spend on dining and travel (which converts to 3 Hyatt points) so doesn't make sense to put these charges on Hyatt anymore.
You can buy 2000 pts outright for $48 (and that's without the frequently offered 30% bonus). Better than a stick in the eye if you already have a stay booked, but agree that this offer isn't very compelling.
