both Freedom and Freedom unlimited earn UR points....

you need a premium card (CSP/R, Ink+) to transfer to airlines.
If you don't have a premium card, you can only redeem F/FU @ $0.01/point, aka making F (1% + 5% rotating) or FU (1.5%) cashback card

(or don't redeem it, keep them until you get a premium card. once you get a premium card, you can transfer existing UR from F/FU to the premium card, then transfer to airlines or use the 25%/50% travel-redemption multiplier)

if you pair FU (1.5 UR)+ CSR (50% travel bonus), you get a minimum redemption rate of 1.5*1.5 = 2.25% redemption on travel. not as good as 2.625% on BoA TR, but 2.25% is a minimum(higher when transferring to hotel/airline partners). no minimum balance like BoA's preferred rewards program, but you pay $150 AF for CSR(plus other benefits)
