Sorry I know this has probably been asked a thousand time, but I'm getting conflicting messages....

I'm trying to book a gold priority award for someone not in our household account (HHA) and being told I can't. Even worse apparently I can't book a normal redemption ticket for someone not in our HHA, but if I wasn't part of a HHA I could.

Is this true?

If so what's the easiest way to fix it take the the wife or me out of the HHA (both gold members) and then book?

It's a £500 saving to use avios vs cash (assuming an avios is worth £0.01).
